AR507-05 - Willunga 100 Shiraz-Viognier 2005 75cl
14.5% alc.
Red
McLaren Vale, South Australia

Willunga 100 - named after a towering red gum tree that was over 100 years old when the vineyards were first planted in the 1840's - aims to build on the great Australian tradition of ripe, full bodied wines that embody the qualities that first made Australian wines famous - the character of the grape, the vineyard and the winemaker.

Tasting Notes
Deep red purple colour typical of this blend. A lifted nose of violets, blueberry and liquorice combines with a subtle note of musk and apricot from the Viognier. Cedar oak notes add complexity. A full, rich palate is reminiscent of dark fruits and chocolate with a long palate and crisp acidity.

Press comment
“This is the sort of wine that made Australia famous.”
Tim Atkin MW - The Observer Food Monthly, October 2006
