AP22 - Mount Horrocks 'Cordon Cut' Riesling 2006 37.5cl
Clare Valley, South Australia

Vibrant, lifted floral riesling fruit aromas that jump out of the glass - along with notes of honeysuckle, vanilla and spice. In the mouth, the wine is at once lively and lusciously sweet without being at all cloying. The fine, zingy acid balances the fruit intensity ensuring a delightful flavour and mouthfeel sensation that lingers for an appealingly long time.

PRESS RECOMMENDATION: Greg Duncan Powell, Sydney Morning Herald. "Made by cutting the cordon, or arm, of the vine so that the grapes shrivel. In this case, the technique has produced a sweet wine with the purity and citric zing of a high-quality dry Riesling, but with enough sweetness to handle dessert. Fresh pristine and bursting with limes"

PRESS RECOMMENDATION: "Is sweet but has no botrytis. Gold-coloured. It has a lovely floral and tropical fruit perfume, mango and kiwi flavours and vibrant acidity. Drink it with fruit tarts and cheese cake."
Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
