Andrew's still buzzing about the London International Wine Fair. And one of the most interesting winemakers there was Mark Shannon, who makes A Mano wines in Puglia.
He's a Californian who visited Puglia in Italy and fell in love with their wine, and way of life. He moved over there a few years ago, and now makes A Mano wines ("A Mano" meaning "handmade") with passion and old-fashioned know-how.
We've always loved A Mano here at Surf4Wine, and if you've ever tasted any of Mark's wines you'll know why. Click below to hear Andrew talking to him about everything from cleanliness to George Clooney!
I had the pleasuer to be introduced to Mark and Elvetzia into their home by a mutual Italian friend a little over a year ago. What a wonderful discussion and visit we had together, enjoying his genuine passion for the wine and the impact he has had on the economy of the region. The audio here reflects his feelings for the people, area, and of course the wines of the Puglia region. Now that I am home in the good ole US of A, we enjoy A Mano as our baseline wine whenever we have friends over, and making converts to this "very drinkable" and enjoyable wine.
Ciao e Grazie Mille a Mark e Elvetzia!
